Would recommend this quartet to anyone, they always do a great job on every
track
Paul Muggleton (Scarlet, Warner Brothers, Nick Hayman)
The Mavron String Quartet recently appeared on S4C's 'Bandit' with the Welsh

Autumn 2006 saw the quartet performing with Katherine Jenkins for the launch
of her new CD ‘Serenade’ at the Riverfront Centre in Newport, a
performance that was recorded for BBC Wales.
One of their latest sessions was with Singer/Songwriter Paul Steel…
Just come back from a week in Cardiff with Charlie Francis (high llamas, turin
brakes, REM)... was ace, broke my real string virginity in good and proper
with the wonderful Mavron Quartet, they sounded awesome...

A little while back, the girls were recording for Alex Park’s latest
album; ‘Honesty’.

Water’ at: www.alexparksofficial.com
They enjoyed the opportunity to work with producer Paul Muggleton
again, having collaborated with him for Judie Tzuke’s latest album; ‘End
of the Beginning’
The album is supplemented with some wonderful strings and I asked
how it all came about.
We had this string quartet that we recorded in the garden. Paul was holding
this big umbrella over them to keep the sun off, Jamie was running around with
a wasp zapper, and in between the trains and planes and building work going
on down the road, we just got on and did it, it was just magical... those really
are Surrey birds you hear twittering away at the beginning of 'Damage Done'.

After their performance of Mervyn Burtch’s String Quartet
No.13, the girls were delighted to be asked by the composer to record the work.
A cd of selected works by Mervyn and featuring the Mavron String Quartet is
available to purchase from Ty Cerdd, Wales Millennium Centre.
An ideal performance, full of understanding of the idiom
Mervyn Burtch

Road, Rockfield, Three Mills, Maid Vale, Monmouth and Rollover, worked with

Haver (Manics, INME, Superfurry Animals, Catatonia), Nick Brine (Oasis, Stone
Roses, The Darkness) and artists such as Kayne West, David Ogilvy and Three
