Mavron Quartet Works With Live Music Now!
‘I just wanted to email you to congratulate you on a stunning performance!
The pieces were all so well chosen - a quite piece, and a loud piece, so to
speak. The Echo centre audience enjoyed it as well from the comments and the
applause, praise indeed! Norma and I were the ones who kept you company over
lunch, if you can't place us, do not worry! We'd like to see you again, whenever
you're numerous commitments allow you! All the best - you’re a mighty
talented bunch!’

In March 2005, the Mavron Quartet successfully auditioned for a place on to
the Live Music Now! scheme. Since then, the quartet has represented Live Music
Now! across the U.K. and as far as Brussels for the KlaraFestival in 2005.
Undertaking workshops and performances for the scheme, the Mavron Quartet has
developed professional presentation skills, interacting with audiences and
adapting to varying environments and audiences. Some of our most rewarding
work has been through working with Live Music Now!
About Live Music Now!
Live Music Now is the largest music outreach programme in the UK and was founded
in 1977 by the late Yehudi Menuhin to fulfil two aims:
- To make high quality live music as widely accessible as possible
- To promote
standards of excellence in young musicians and music leaders
Live Music Now! offers
performance and workshop opportunities across a wide range of musical
traditions and cultures to
musicians who
are based in the U.K. who are at the start of their careers.
The scheme
is suitable for musicians who want to develop skills and leadership
as part of a performing career. Performances take place in a wide variety
of settings across the U.K., particularly in places where live performances
are rarely a part of daily life. |
|
These include hospices, residential homes and day centres
for older people, schools for children with special needs, day centres for
people with learning and physical disabilities or mental health problems,
hostels for homeless people and prisons. Each year Live Music Now!
arranges over 3,000 performances and workshops throughout the UK.
All musicians must pass a formal Audition before they can be selected for
the scheme.
The Gate Arts Centre
